In France..., a South Korean novelist has been awarded the ( gee-mae)Emile Guimet Prize for Asian Literature.
The (gee-mae) Guimet Museum of Asian Art announced Hwang Sok-yong earned the recognition for his novel "At Dusk".
The prize was inaugurated for the first time last year, to honor the works of Asian authors who published in French.
Hwang's book portrays contrasting lives of a successful architect in his 60s... and a young theater producer who barely make ends meet, both looking back at their lives 'at dusk'.
Five other Asian authors, including novelists from India and China, were also shortlisted.
