Two Koreas agree to hold joint celebratory events during historic dates

Civic representatives from the two Koreas have been discussing ways to hold joint celebratory events on historic occasions.
The committee in Seoul unveiled those plans on Monday.

The South Korean civic committee for implementing the June 15th Declaration revealed that they had agreed with their North Korean counterparts last week to hold joint events between the South and North on historic dates.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, the South Korean civic group that visited North Korea for the first time under the Moon Jae-in administration,..said that the two sides agreed to actively comply with the Panmunjom Declaration and work towards easing military tensions on the Korean peninsula.
According to the committee, the two Koreas will begin by engaging in joint discussions across various sectors and regions.
The two Koreas will also hold joint events such as a joint unification soccer competition, and hold joint celebrations for the October 4 declaration anniversary, National foundation day, and independence movement day.
The two Koreas will make a joint statement on July 4 and designate the three month period from then until October 4th as the "Panmunjom Declaration implementation period". During that period, they'll hold various activities such as displaying the unification flag and creating commemoration badges.
The 15-member South Korean committee visited North Korea for 4 days from June 20th to discuss implementing the Panmunjom declaration with a North Korean committee and an overseas committee.
