A man lit several small bushfire in a bid to escape police after leading officers in a car chase in the Sunshine Coast and Pine Rivers areas on Sunday, June 24, Queensland Police said.

This police helicopter footage shows the man, 43, driving in the town of Burpengary before escaping on foot in Petrie. He dumped two handguns in the bush and started several small fires, according to police.
