According to Geek.com, three infant planets have been spotted orbiting a newborn star in a protoplanetary disk.
Situated about 300 light years from the Milky Way, the recently discovered disk of matter is forming a star called HD 163296.
Two independent teams of astronomers analyzed data from observations made by the Atacama Large Millimeter Array of the dense gas and dust surrounding the 4 million-year-old star, and found evidence of planets forming with carbon monoxide gas.
