Minister Piyush Goyal compares the track record of the past and present governments in project implementation, giving the example of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) of Indian Railways.
DFC project was finalised on paper 11 years ago, and for seven years it was stuck in implementation mode with only 20% land acquired, very few contracts awarded, and insufficient funding in the Budget. From 2014, finally the project has picked up speed, with today 98% of the land acquired and about 95% of contracts awarded.
Minister Goyal gave this example to show the dedicated and systematic style of working of the Narendra Modi Government to deliver on promises in a time-bound manner.
