Several states are on alert after the weather office and the Centre warned of thunderstorms accompanied by squall, hail and heavy rains across the country. Thunderstorm accompanied with squall or hail will very likely be seen over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh,Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, according to the IMD. The weather condition, however, will not be as bad as last week when over 100 people died in a freak storm.
Rains and storms in four districts of Rajasthan have been hit by heavy rains on Wednesday. During this, 28 people died in accidents. 10 in Bharatpur, 14 in Dhaulpur, 3 in Alwar and 1 in Jhunjhunun. The tornado reached 130 kmph at around 6.00 in the evening. In these districts there was lightning till late at night. Storm of water kept on tin shads and roofs of several houses in the Alwar blown up. 40 people were injured in Dhaulpur. During this time many trees and electric poles collapsed. Due to the falling of tree pole on roads and on the railway track in many places, the traffic system was stalled.
