Tropical storm Kai-Tak, known locally as Urduja, battered eastern Philippines over the weekend and Monday, December 18, killing at least 42 after triggering severe floods and landslides.

According to Manila Times, 28 fatalities were reported in Biliran, the area most affected by the storm. This video was shot by a resident in Eastern Samar, where a fisherman and a 4-year-old child died. Local officials said 19,000 families had been moved to evacuation centers.
