Heavy rains hit central Philippines’ Aklan province as Tropical Depression Kai-tak, locally known as Urduja, made landfall for the fourth time on Sunday, December 17, online news site Rappler reported.
This video, taken by a husband and wife duo travelling in Aklan, shows flooded streets and rainy conditions in the municipality of Malay.
Tropical cyclone signal number 1 was raised in Aklan, as well as nearby provinces Romblon, Palawan, southern Mindoro and northern Antique, as the storm caused flooding and landslides and led to at least three deaths.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the storm packed maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kph north-northwest of Palawan as of 10 am December 18. Credit: Instagram/chibimoku via Storyful
