President Trump on Friday posted another tweet about Kanye West.
President Trump took to Twitter on Friday and thanked Kanye West for supporting him.
"Kanye West has performed a great service to the Black Community - Big things are happening and eyes are being opened for the first time in Decades - Legacy Stuff! Thank you also to Chance and Dr. Darrell Scott, they really get it (lowest Black & Hispanic unemployment in history)," Trump tweeted.
The president tweeted a "thank you" to West on Wednesday as well. Trump wrote, "Thank you Kanye, very cool!" and shared one of West's many messages about him.
"You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother," West had tweeted. "I love everyone. I don't agree with everything anyone does. That's what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought."
Amid the widely covered Twitter exchange, the New York Times noted, "the mercurial president accused of racist comments and the bombastic rapper accused of supporting him have long seemed to enjoy each other's company." Trump and West met during the transition, but White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters on Wednesday afternoon that, to her knowledge, they haven't gotten together or talked since then. She did note, "I'll keep you posted if that changes."
