Explore Japanese cuisine with me as I show you guys how to eat monjya! \r
Monjya is a very popular dish in Tokyo. You can find a ton of monjya restaurants on Monjya Street in Tsukishima (a station on the Yurakusho Line or Oedo Line - Exit 7).\r
\r
The name monjya comes from 文字 (mojo) meaning letters/charers (a form of writing) because back in the day, the kids would memorize charers by writing them on the pan with the batter. Who would have thought?!\r

■ Additional info about ordering \r
\r
Before ordering monjya, I recommend getting a few 鉄板焼き(teppan yaki) items. \r
I usually get コーンバター (corn butter - i.e. buttered corn), ソーセージ (sausage), アスパラベーコン (asparabacon - bacon wrapped asparagus), and ホタテ (hotate - scallops) if I feel like some seafood :)\r
\r
These come raw and you cook them yourself on the plate on your table.\r
\r
If youre really hungry, you can finish off by ordering okonomiyaki, which has a much thicker consistency and is more like a Japanese pizza, except the ingredients are inside the dough as opposed to toppings on pizza.\r
\r
OR you can get yakisoba (stir fried noodles) if you want something youre a bit more familiar with :)\r
\r
If you dont know how to cook something, the waiter will show you how to do it so dont hesitate to ask :) \r
