RNLI lifeboats helped rescue a 1,200-tonne cargo vessel that became stranded in a narrow strait between the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland on Sunday, February 18.

CEG Universe was left drifting in the current of the Kylerhea narrows after its rudder and anchor brake broke, according to a statement from the RNLI. Lifeboats from Kyle of Lochalsh and Mallaig were able to hold the freighter in position until a tugboat was able to tow the vessel into Kyle Harbour. Credit: RNLI Kyle Lifeboat via Storyful
