Watertown, New York, was under a lake-effect snow warning on Saturday, February 3, with forecasters calling for five to nine inches of snowfall by 4 pm. A National Weather Service spotter reported 3.6 inches of snow fell in one hour.

Lake Ontario border towns had been hit with colder temperatures than usual since the start of 2018. The National Weather Service said Buffalo, Rochester and Watertown were 1.2 degrees Fahrenheit or less of the normal temperature for January.

These videos were taken from Watertown, one showing gusts of wind pushing snow into the town, and another video showing the wind bands shifting directions toward Fort Drum. In Watertown and Fort Drum, forecasters called for snowfall at a rate of two to three inches per hour, resulting in poor visibility. Credit: Instagram/dayosanch via Storyful
