Wind-Fueled South Dakota Grass Fire Fully Contained

A grass fire inside Bear Butte State Park in South Dakota was fully contained in the early hours of Sunday, January 28. The fire burned through an estimated 150 acres, according to a local news report shared on Facebook by fire officials.

The fire, which shut down parts of the park, was first reported at 11:40am on Saturday and was reported as contained at 2am on Sunday. Wind gusts of 35 miles per hour fueled the fire. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
