DAL PALAK RECIPE
Ingredients:
Toor dal: 1 cup(150 gms)
Tamarind: lemon size
Spinach: 2 cups
Onion: 1 chopped
Red chilly: 2
Green chilly: 8
Garlic: 3
Turmeric powder: ¼ tsp
Salt: to taste
Curry leaves: few
Hing: pinch
Water: 4 cups
Coriander leaves: few
Method:
In a pressure cooker add toor dal and 3 cups water and cook for 3 whistles.
In a bowl soak tamarind.
In a pan heat oil add red chilly, cumin seeds, hing and satute for one min.
Add chopped garlic, turmeric powder, grenn chilly, curry leaves and onions and cook till onions are soft.
Add spinach and cook for 10 to 15 mins or till spinach is cooked.
Now add cooked toor dal, tamarind juice, 1 cup water, salt to taste and cook for 5 to 7 mins.
Finely add chopped coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
Spinach Dal is ready to be served.
