Anti-austerity protests continued in Tunisia on Friday, January 12, local reports said, with police pushing back demonstrators trying to reach a government building.

Protest against price increases and taxes implemented in the 2018 budget also took place in al-Battan in the last several days, local news outlets said, and in Terbouba, near Tunis, where one person was killed.
