Motorists drove through flooded roads near Bangkok on Wednesday, January 10, after a thunderstorm brought heavy rainfall to the Thai capital.

This video taken by an onlooker shows cars driving through a flooded street next to the Imperial World Samrong mall in Samut Prakan Province, about 10 miles south of Bangkok.

Flooding was reported across the city on Wednesday, the Bangkok Post reported. Areas closest to the Chao Phraya River were among the hardest hit, the newspaper reported.

Weather forecasters have warned that Thailand could face particularly bad storms this year as a result of the La Nina weather condition, the Phuket Gazette reported. The weather in the country could become wetter than 1995, in which the country suffered the second highest annual rainfall in its recent history, according to the report.
