According to nbcnews.com, Members of the military are now able to “join according to their “preferred” gender, rather than their sex at birth.” They must provide a birth certificate, a passport, or court order indicating their preferred sex, and then they will be processed. This is a huge step for the acceptance of the LGBTQ community in the United States.
