Susan Collins and Angus King, both senators from Maine, have written a letter to the Federal Communications Commission chairman Ajit Pai urging him to cancel Thursday’s vote on net neutrality. The letter states their concern on the impact the repeal may have on the free market and the “potential adverse effect on rural America’s ability to realize the internet’s full potential.” Both Collins and King urged the cancelling of the vote in order to give congress and FCC time to hold public hearings.
