Rallies were held in Melbourne and Sydney on Saturday, November 4, as many called for an end to the continued use of Manus Island and Nauru as refugee processing centres.

Earlier in the week, Manus Island Refugee Processing Centre was closed, and while the refugees were expected to transfer to another facility, they refused to leave.

According to the SBS, recorded messages by the men living on the island were played to the crowd during the protest in Melbourne’s CBD.
