Outside Brasov Romania, stopped to film a sheepherder sheepfolds and his flock; guided by a sheepdog (working dog). Then got surrounded by about 7 of them in my car. Decided to face them to get some photos and film.\r
\r
Their collars were interesting; metal spiked with dangling handle bars; designed to protect against wolf and bear attack. They all had a single vertically cropped ear meant for better hearing. All males (females too placid or not strong enough?); free to roam and totally unsupervised on this hillside. These dogs were trained to protect sheep from anything; even me.\r

There were about 12 or more sheepdogs there; some out of site, and when I walked into the field to photograph the corralled sheep, was charged by one I had not won over and the rest came barking. I nearly got bitten and surrounded by 10 of them snarling and nipping at my heels. Stood my ground and tossed food until the Sheppard came and rescued me. Food worked on all but three of them. Was too scared to think of filming it.\r
