In this video we are metal detecting an old farmstead we have been salivating on for a while. I had tried to cont the owner with no luck. Then one day a client of ours conted us and described a property he had gotten access to metal detect. Crazily it was that same property. Some how he had gotten hold of the owner and gotten permission to hunt it. Additionally he got a little intel. We knew the property was located directly on the old California and Oregon trail. Many old cattle and pioneer trails converge in this part of the country.especially Kansas city. These trails were used by pioneers, settlers, cattlemen, gold prospectors, and those looking for opportunities out west. This creek has been for forever and was crossed right in this location. This property may have been a way point and a place for people to gear up and get water before heading into or out of town. We metal detected a few hours with relatively little luck. However, our experience is the more you hunt a property the more likely you are to find something. Often you just have to get the trash out of the way.
