An explosion detonated in the streets of the Altamira neighborhood in Caracas on July 30, injuring at least four national policemen in a motorcycle convoy.

Various reports, such as here and here, said at least four people were injured by burns and several motorcycles were destroyed.

This incident comes on the day of a nation-wide vote to create a “constituent national assembly,” an initiative put forth by President Nicolas Maduro with the goal of rewriting Venezuela’s constitution. The government banned protesting ahead of and during the vote. The ban is set to be lifted on Tuesday, August 1. Credit: Twitter/@VivaLaUCV via Storyful
