Footage published by Islamic State-affiliated Amaq News on the night of Thursday, June 8, appears to show an incendiary munition dropped on what was said to be a neighborhood on the edges of Raqqa, the group’s de facto capital in Syria.

Local anti-Islamic State (IS) media activists reported incendiary munitions dropped on al-Mashlab in Raqqa in the evening, with several photos and videos circulated on social media described as showing the strikes.

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces closed in on the IS stronghold on Thursday, with fighting reported in al-Mashlab and Jazrah districts on the eastern and western outskirts of the city, as well as heavy fighting at an IS base north of Raqqa.
