On December 20, the Roj Mine Control Organization removed two mines from the St. George church in Raqqa.
The team has removed 1,300 mines from Raqqa since the US-backed SDF gained control of the city in mid-October. Most of the mines were located in homes, a member of RMCO says in this footage, because Islamic State militants planted them to kill civilians, not military forces.
Less than 15 percent of civilians displaced from Raqqa during the offensive against the Islamic State have returned, according to the US-backed coalition. Credit: YouTube/Smart News Agency via Storyful
