Crowds gathered at Potters Field in central London on June 5 and observed a minute’s silence in tribute to the victims of the attack at nearby London Bridge and Borough Market two days earlier.

The vigil was organized by London authorities and promoted by Mayor Sadiq Khan, who spoke at the event. An event page on the mayor’s official website included the line, “We will never let these cowards win and we will never be cowed by terrorism.”
