A federal appeals court upheld the nationwide block of President Trump's executive order temporarily restricting travel from six predominantly Muslim countries. Trump's order "speaks with vague words of national security, but in context drips with religious intolerance, animus and discrimination," Chief Judge Roger L. Gregory of the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals wrote in his ruling. The 10-3 ruling relied mostly on Trump's statements during his campaign in which he called for a ban on Muslims immigrating to the U.S. The new ban was announced in March, but never went into effect because federal courts blocked it hours before it was set to pass. It would have banned people from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen from entering the US for 90 days and all refugees for 120 days.
