Following advances by Iraqi forces in western Mosul, Islamic State fighters were pushed back to a few remaining neighborhoods, including Old Mosul, Zanjily, Shifaa and Suha, Iraqi media reported on May 21, citing a military commander.

Iraqi forces were in full control of Tamuz 17 and Najjar in north Mosul, according to Iraqi media.
