Over 50 National Guard troops have been deployed to areas in northeast Arkansas to aid relief efforts after torrential rains overflowed rivers and flooded local towns over the weekend of April 30.

This aerial footage, released on May 2, shows views of the flooded areas in Pocahontas, which is located in Randolph County.

According to information released by the Arkansas National Guard Public Affairs Office, Lawrence and Clay counties also suffered heavily from the flooding, and the National Guard soldiers responding to the crisis were from the 87th Troop Command from Little Rock and would mainly focus on evacuation and aiding local law enforcement.
