A 6.9 magnitude earthquake prompted evacuations in Vina del Mar and other areas in central Chile on Monday, April 24. The evacuation order was later cancelled.

The strong quake was followed by multiple aftershocks. This came just one day after another earthquake rattled the region. T13 reported that there have been more than 100 quakes over a 48-hour period.
