A brush fire near Hernando Beach, Florida, burned through 1,100 acres over the weekend of April 9 before finally reaching about 90% containment on Tuesday, April 11.

This footage shows the fire on April 9.

The fire blazed near the Weeki Wachee Gardens in Hernando County and was likely sparked by lightning, according to a report. A tweet from the Florida Forest Service on April 12 revealed that crews were still continuing mop up procedures, and 6,500 gallons of water had been used on the fire that day.

Close to 100 wildfires have burned across more than 20,000 acres in Florida, PBS reported, prompting Governor Rick Scott to issue a state of emergency and call for help from the Florida National Guard. In a press release on the governor’s website, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam was quoted saying that the state hadn’t seen a wildfire season so active since 2011.
