Maneka Gandhi, the Union Cabinet Minister for Women and Child Development, slammed the film fraternity and accused it of fueling violence against women. During her address at the Goa Fest 2017, she said that romance in almost every film starts with eve teasing.

केंद्रीय मंत्री मेनका गांधी ने ईव टीजिंग पर बयान दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि लगभग सभी फिल्मों में छेड़छाड़ को बढ़ावा दिया जाता है। शुक्रवार को एक कार्यक्रम में मेनका गांधी ने कहा, ‘सभी फिल्मों में रोमांस की शुरुआत छेड़खानी से होती है, चाहे वह हिंदी फिल्म हो या फिर क्षेत्रीय फिल्म, दिखाया जाता है कि हीरो और उसके दोस्त किसी महिला को घेर लेते हैं, कमेंट करते हैं, कुछ बोलते हैं।’ मेनका महिला एंव बाल विकास मंत्री हैं। उन्होंने यह बयान किस संदर्भ में दिया है यह अभी पता नहीं लगा।
