The Connecticut Huskies announced that they left head football coach Bob Diaco go only after three seasons, beginning January 2. Diaco, who finished the season five weeks ago, was 11-26 in three seasons with the Huskies. In May, the former football coach agreed to a extend his contract through May 2020. Diaco earned $1.7 million this season and was set to earn $1.8 million in 2017. Diaco will recieve a buyout of $3.4 million, which would've been $5 million had he been fired before the end of 2016.
