Amazon is looking to further its efforts in streaming video by acquiring broadcast rights to professional sports leagues. The Wall Street Journal reports that Amazon has met with the NFL, NBA and MLB. All the meetings are part of Amazon's plan to offer a premium sports programming package for its Prime subscribers. The NBA told Amazon no, according to the WSJ, as they prefer their current method of packaging games via multiple outlets. Amazon has been in talks with the NFL and NBA in recent years, according to USA Today. Each of the three major North American sports leagues have begun streaming games on sites like Yahoo and Twitter.
