In a Tuesday appearance on CNN’s ‘AC360,’ conservative radio host Glenn Beck called the alt-right movement, one often associated with white nationalism, “truly terrifying.”
He also warned, "I want to make sure that everybody understands that the alt-right is real.”
Beck’s discussion with Anderson Cooper also touched upon Stephen Bannon, the former Breitbart News director who was recently named as a top advisor to President-elect Donald Trump.
The radio host noted that Bannon has described Breitbart as a platform for the alt-right and commented, “He [Bannon] has given a voice and power to that group of people. You don't empower people like that. You just don't. It's not smart."
Beck did decline to assert Trump’s involvement in the alt-right, saying, “I don't believe he believes any of this.”
