What's your idea of a perfect marriage proposal? Brandi Runyan & Stephen Richardson have a very unique story to tell after a proposal in a hot air balloon ended in an unexpected way.

Stephen popped the question while the balloon was about 2 thousand feet in the air in Noblesville, Indiana. Long story short, she said yes and everything was perfect.

But about a half an hour after that, the hot air balloon went over some power lines and started rapidly dropping. The balloon struck the power lines and panic ensued.

Making matters even worse, sparks started flying and the balloon drifted up, striking the power lines again. The pilot began screaming to the ground crew, asking for them to contact the fire department.

Before anyone could get there to help however, the balloon plummeted towards the ground. Thankfully, none of the 7 people onboard at the time were seriously hurt, despite harshly colliding with the ground.

The FAA is currently investigating the crash. As for the newly engaged couple, they couldn’t be happier. Stephen comically reflected on the incident, saying it worked out for the best and that he thinks ‘sparks in a marriage are a good thing’.
