On Wednesday, Donald Trump gave Newt Gingrich a pat on the back for his performance during a Tuesday Fox News discussion with Megyn Kelly. 
In the midst of a ribbon cutting for his new Washington, D.C. hotel, Trump said, “Congratulations, Newt, on last night, that was an amazing interview. We don’t play games, Newt, right?” 
During the segment in question, the exchange between Gingrich and Kelly was quite intense. 
At one point Gingrich accused Kelly of overplaying the sexual assault allegations against Trump and not focusing enough on Hillary Clinton’s bad press. 
In the process, he said, “You are fascinated with sex, and you don’t care about public policy.”
Kelly responded, in part, “I’m not fascinated by sex. But I am fascinated by the protection of women.”
