“Eddie Vartan-produced 1969 LP, wonderfully dreamy and baroque and folky and orchestrated. Lots of languid, lazy-day la, la, la’s here! Talented, curly-haired singer-songwriter Nick Garrie was youthful, peripatetic, and quite cosmopolitan (you can tell from his lyrics, referencing all corners of Europe). He had a Scottish mother, a Russian father, and was raised in both France and England, calling Paris his home at the time this record came out. Though nowadays it gets compared to the work of Nick Drake, Billy Nichols, Peter Sarstedt, Bill Fay, and others of note, due to music biz circumstances beyond Nick’s control, it immediately sank into obscurity upon initial release. The Rev-ola CD issue (first time ever on CD) is complete with extensive liner notes, track-by-track commentary by Nick himself, and seven bonus tracks including his fantastic and even harder to find than the LP 1968 single “Queen Of Spades” b/w “Close Your Eyes”. Great stuff for fans of UK popsike like Kaleidoscope.” – Aquarius Records………

"The fabulous singer-songwriter / pop-psych debut masterpiece by Nick Garrie-Hamilton is reissued in vinyl format for the first time ever since its very rare France-only release in 1969. A musical delicatessen by this great Russian/Scottish, French raised singer songwriter. This LP first came out in France in 1969, under the production of Eddie Vartan, who managed to embody Nick’s perfect songs into an orchestration with several common points to that in other great albums from the era coming from the UK (think of Billy Nichols, Duncan Browne, Bill Fay…). Soon after the record came out, the AZ’s label owner committed suicide, the label resting orphaned and thus the release being unpromoted & undistributed sank in the dust of time. One of its songs, 'Wheel Of Fortune,’ was rescued back in the Strange Things Are Happening days for its inclusion on a volume of the legendary Circus Dayscompilations. The Wah Wah edition, issued under license from Nick Garrie himself, comes with two bonus tracks taken from Nick’s rare pre-LP 45, issued in France in 1968. It has been master cut by Yann Dub @ DK Mastering for a high quality sound pressing that will satisfy the most exquisite audiophile.“….wah wah records…..
