The Kellogg Company issued a voluntary recall Monday for 10,000 cases of Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles due to listeria concerns. The recall covers 25 states and Kellogg reports that it has not heard of any illnesses. Listeria can cause serious infections in children, the frail or elderly, and anyone with a weakened immune system. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
