Here we go with the ninth round of the Moto3 championship at Indianapolis, not a track I've raced at much at all so I needed all the practice time available to try and learn the circuit and find a setup that worked for me. I managed a qualifying time that put me fifth on the grid, right at the last gasp of qualifying. Prior to that I had been several seconds off the pace.

For once I good a good start and avoided all the first lap carnage in the bunch and as my team manager had set me the objective of a third place finish I was relieved to have got off the line cleanly. I really enjoyed this race so I hope it's good to watch too. As is usual for me, the consistency was lacking and the mistakes were too many and too often, including two offs - one of which was my fault, the other a rather aggressive dive by Vinales resulting in a coming together which he survived of course! Overall a good result but as you will see, I should really have finished higher.
