Latur (Maharashtra), May 04 (ANI): In an incident highlighting the plight of people residing in drought-hit regions of the country, a woman died in Maharashtra's Latur district on Tuesday while standing in a queue for hours to fetch water. The 45-year-old woman collapsed due to intense heat after standing for over two hours to get water from a borewell in Atola village in Chakur tehsil. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared brought dead. Last month, an 11-year-old boy died while fetching water from a village well in Beed district, while a 12-year-old lost her life after making five trips to a water pump in the same district.
