Leopard rescued from West Bengal village

Jalpaiguri (West Bengal), Mar 03 (ANI): The forest officials rescued a leopard from a village in West Bengal. The leopard strayed into the village in Jalpaiguri district, creating panic among the villagers. It took five hours to tranquilise the leopard and bring it down from the tree. The leopard was then released into Gorumara Reserve Forest. Wild animals like leopard, panthers and elephants cause human and material loss in villages nearby forest areas as they often stray into inhabited areas in search of food.
