Ruby Tuason, a key witness in the pork barrel scam and former aide of ex-President now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, has been granted immunity by the government, according to the Office Ombudsman in a press conference Friday, May 2, 2014. Tuason has also turned over to Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales and Justice Secretary Leila de Lima P40 million, her alleged commission, from the transactions she has brokered between businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles and lawmakers whose pork barrel funds were channelled to Napoles' bogus non-government organizations.
