Aligarh village bans use of cell phones by under-18 girls

Aligarh, Feb 20 (ANI): The panchayat of Basauli village in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh District has banned under –18 girls from using mobile phones. The panchayat has also banned the consumption and sale of alcohol in the village. They also forbid residents to visit the police station to resolve their disputes. Rashtiye Lok Dal block head Ramvir Singh said those who will not abide by these laws will have to sweep a 0.5 kilometer stretch in the village as punishment. Assistant District Magistrate, Sanjay Chauhan said that a probe has been ordered into the matter and such dictates would not be allowed.
