New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi said government’s reforms must transform people’s lives. Modi added that the government should make proper use of natural and human resources, increase value addition, create new opportunities for citizens and ensure honest administration. Modi also questioned the selective use of words ‘subsidy’ and ‘incentive’ by the experts, denoting the benefit given by the government to the poor and industries respectively.
PM Modi added his aim was not to eliminate subsidies but to rationalise and target them. The government had launched Jan Dhan Yojna (banking for all) to pay benefits directly into bank accounts of the people.
