Tensionimi i situatës ne veri te Kosovës, pas vrasjes me eksploziv te një shqiptari dhe plagosjes se familjareve te tij ne Mitrovicë, ka sjelle reagimin e menjëhershëm te trupave ndërkombëtare. KFOR ka bllokuar piken kufitare te Jarinjes, duke vendosur kontrollin ne zone. Operacioni i trupave ushtarake është kryer gjate orëve te para te mëngjesit, duke bllokuar rrugën kryesore, por edhe te gjitha akset alternative ne zone. Ndërkohë, ne anën tjetër te kufirit, një grup serbesh janë mbledhur dhe po ndjekin veprimet e ushtareve, por pa krijuar incidente. Sipas mediave kosovare, trupat e KFOR-it do te vendosen edhe ne vendkalimin tjetër ne Merdare. Me herët, kreu i Vetëvendosjes Albin Kurti i ka dërguar nga një letër presidentes Jahjaga dhe homologut shqiptar Bamir Topi, si dhe kryetarit te parlamentit Krasniqi dhe kreut te qeverise Thaçi. Kurti kërkon shpalljen e gjendjes se jashtëzakonshme ne Mitrovicë, për shkak te përshkallëzimit te situatës dhe revanshit te serbeve. Te shtunën, si pasoje e një shpërthimi ne lagjen "Tre rrokaqiejt" ne Mitrovicën veriore, shqiptari Silver Haradinaj humbi jetën ne shtëpinë e tij, ndërsa familjaret morën plage te lehta ne trup dhe janë jashtë rrezikut për jetën. Kjo ngjarje ka tronditur te gjithë banoret e Mitrovicës qe jetojnë atje, duke shtuar friken për sulme te reja.
