Komisioni për Mbrojtjen e te Dhënave Personale ka dërguar ne parlament një draft me amendime te ligjit te miratuar ne vitin 2008. Por deputetet e opozitës ne Komision e Sigurisë kane ngritur shqetësimin se te dhënat personale janë keqpërdorur ne shume raste nga pushteti. Ilir Gjoni pyeti komisioneren Flora Çabej për sms-te e urimit qe dërgonte stafi i kandidatit Lulzim Basha para zgjedhjeve lokale te kaluara, por përgjigja e komisioneres ishte se ne këtë institucion nuk kishte asnjë ankese. Një tjetër çështje e debatuar ne Komisionin e Sigurisë, ishte emërimi i komandantit te flotës detare. Sipas opozitës, ministri i Mbrojtës, Arben Imami, ka shkelur ligjin, pasi emërimin e dekreton vetëm presidenti.
