Kreu i shtetit Bamir Topi e ka cilësuar marrjen e statusit te vendit kandidat si prioritet te Shqipërisë ne 100 vjetorin e pavarësisë. Nga Durrësi ku zhvilloi takimin e përvitshëm me trupin diplomatik te akredituar ne vendin tone, presidenti i beri serish thirrje klasës politike për bashkëpunim për realizimin e reformave te kërkuara për integrimin.
"Sfida jonë kryesore është nderimi i merituar i këtij viti jubilar përmes marrjes së statutit të vendit kandidat në Bashkimin Evropian dhe forcimin e demokracisë funksionale, si një garanci për stabilitet demokratik afatgjatë. Ky jubile historik është një rast i mirë për të gjithë popullin shqiptar, për shoqërinë qytetare dhe politike, për institucionet dhe aktorët e tjerë publikë, - për të reflektuar mbi gabimet e ardhura nga mungesa e përvojës apo mbi pushteti i partive politike në raport me shoqërinë" është shprehur presidenti Topi. Me herët presidenti nënvizoi si pozitive zhvillimet politike te muajve te fundit e dialogun mes forcave kryesore, duke e cilësuar si domosdoshmëri për ndërtimin e institucioneve te qëndrueshme. Kreu i shtetit shprehu mirënjohje edhe për rolin e ambasadoreve te akredituar ne vendin tone dhe mbështetjen e dhënë ne proceset integruese.
