Met at a book launch in Petaling Jaya earlier, Xavier denied having resorted to violence to solve the fracas during the party's division level election yesterday.
"I didn't punch or kick anyone... But what do you when someone barges tries to throw and tear the ballots," he asked.
As the division's incumbent chief Xavier said he was compelled to "protect and safeguard" the ballot boxes from any harm.
"Tension and frustration were running high and it did get rough but we managed to settle it within minutes," he said.
Xavier, contented with the unofficial results citing that he won, said that the members were happy with his performance despite the rumours and accusations that have been going around.
