Thousands of students marched in several Chilean cities on Thursday to protest against the government's education policies. In the country's capital Santiago, protesters clashed with police at the end of an initially peaceful demonstration. Police responded with water cannons and tear gas to protesters hurling stones and destroying traffic signals.
