Ravi (Jeetendra) and Sarita (Rekha) are presented with awards at the Annual Function of their college. Kishore (Satyendra Kapoor) and Lata (Bindu) decide to celebrate Mamaji's 60th birthday. Tulsi (Nirupa Roy) is feeling dizzy and accidentally drops the tea cup on Lata's saree. Lata pushes Tulsi and she strikes with the almirah and faints. Ravi enters at the same time. Suntan is story of immense paternal love. The movie starts with the story of Ashok Kumar and Nirupa Roy- old parents of Kishore (Satyendra Kapoor), who did everything in their limit and educate their son Kishore so that he becomes a doctor. They work very hard to arrange money for his education. But he, instead of thanking for his parent's efforts, abandons them and moves out to make quick money. He marries a very rich girl and leads a lavish life with her. Then, they have a son and name him Ravi. Ravi is completely opposite of his father. Eventually, he comes to know about his father's deeds and decides to teach his parents, a lesson for misbehaving with his grandparents. Watch how he'll teach them a lesson with the help of Rekha.
